Dr. Lorraine S. Lira is a neurologist who joined Dr. Van Slooten's practice in Westwood, New Jersey in 2001. She performs EMG/NCV studies and therapeutic Botox injections.
Education and Training
Dr. Lira graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines, in 1989. She completed a required year of rotating internship at the Veterans Hospital in Quezon City before taking her general medical boards in the Philippines.
She came to the United States and completed her Neurology residency at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, from 1992 to 1996.
Experience
In 1996, Dr. Lira started her own solo neurology practice in West Branch, Michigan, where she was the only adult neurologist within a 60-mile radius. In 2001 she returned to the East Coast and joined Dr. Van Slooten's practice. Dr. Lira has served as Chief of Neurology at Holy Name Medical Center and is an attending neurologist at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.
