Please also bring your insurance card, a photo ID, a list of your current medications, any referral your insurance plan requires, and copies of recent test results such as MRI or CT reports. Our guide on when to see a neurologist explains what happens at a first neurology visit.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your first appointment begins with a detailed conversation about your symptoms, medical history and medications, followed by a neurological examination of memory, vision, strength, reflexes, sensation, coordination and walking. Your neurologist will explain the likely causes of your symptoms and recommend next steps. When testing is needed, many studies, including EMG and nerve conduction studies, EEG, cognitive testing and carotid ultrasound, can be scheduled right here in our office.
Insurance and Languages
Our practice participates in most health insurance plans, and we work with out-of-network plans. Our staff is fluent in Spanish and Tagalog.
